A New Townhouse Proposal For Gleneagles
A new residential proposal in West Vancouver could bring thoughtfully designed townhouse living to the Gleneagles area, helping address the ongoing demand for “missing middle” housing options in the community.
A 12-unit townhouse development has been proposed for a site along Marine Drive, directly across from Gleneagles Golf Course. The location is currently an undeveloped, forested property that once housed a decommissioned telecommunications building.
Project Overview
The development is being proposed by Ledcor Properties and would consist of:
- 12 three-storey townhomes
- Three bedrooms per residence
- Approximately 1,800–1,900 sq. ft. per unit
- Underground parking with two spaces per home
The site is presently zoned for single-family use, so the proposal includes an Official Community Plan amendment to allow ground-oriented infill housing.
Why This Location Matters
The proposed site is well positioned for long-term livability. It sits along an established transit route and is close to local trails, recreation amenities, and Gleneagles Community Centre. While much of the land is currently forested, the project aims to integrate higher-density housing into an area traditionally dominated by single-family homes.
What Happens Next
The proposal is scheduled to go before a public hearing on February 23 at 5 p.m., giving residents an opportunity to learn more and share feedback before any decisions are made.
