To help you shop local and support our incredible small businesses, I’ve put together a Gift Guide to North Vancouver featuring some of my absolute favourite spots.
❆ Bridge Brewing | A North Shore staple for good reason. While they have a beer for every palate, the holidays aren't complete without picking up a 4-pack of "The Grinch" Winter Ale. It’s the perfect dark, cozy warmer for those chilly nights.
❆ Beva Brewing & Blending | For a more intimate experience, head to Beva. Co-owned by the lovely and community-forward Morgan Miller, this small-scale brewery focuses on wild ales and unique blends. It’s a gem of a spot to grab a bottle for a dinner party or just enjoy a pint with a friend.
❆ The Cheese Man | A true local legend. If you are building a charcuterie board, this is non-negotiable. They have an incredible selection of cheeses you can't find elsewhere. Hot Tip: They are Cash Only, so hit the ATM before you get in line!
❆ Helicon Books | Located in Lower Lonsdale on 1st Street, this boutique bookshop is a haven for readers. Unlike the big box stores, the selection here is carefully curated. If you don’t know what to get someone, the staff here will guide you to the perfect read.
❆ Bad Dog Bread | If you haven't been to this bakery yet, you are missing out on some of the best sourdough in the city. Their naturally leavened loaves make a perfect host gift (if they make it that far without being eaten).
❆ Knead Bakeshop | A fantastic spot for the pastry lover. Their croissants and seasonal treats are flaky perfection. It’s the perfect spot to grab a coffee and a gourmet pastry to warm up after a winter walk along the Spirit Trail.
❆ Moja Coffee | For the caffeine addict in your life. As one of the premier roasters on the shore, a bag of their beans (or a subscription) is a gift that will actually get used every morning.
❆ thestylewell | If you have a friend who loves interiors, you need to visit thestylewell. Offering incredible interior design ideas and a beautifully curated selection of home decor, this is where you go to find that chic vase, throw, or candle that ties a room together.
❆ A’hoy Goods | Head out to Deep Cove for this one. A’hoy offers a "modern retro" vibe with durable goods made for the coast. They are famous for their bags and gear, perfect for the adventurer on your list who values quality and style.
❆ Kidsbooks | Located in Edgemont Village, this is simply the best place to find magic for the little ones. The staff know exactly what books will capture a child's imagination, ensuring you find a gift that will be cherished long after the wrapping paper is gone.
❆ Inuit Gallery of Vancouver | Recently relocated to North Vancouver near the Quay, this gallery offers a truly breathtaking selection of masterworks. If you are looking for a significant, one-of-a-kind gift for an art lover, browse their incredible collection of Inuit and Northwest Coast First Nations sculpture, prints, and jewelry.
❆ The British Butcher | A taste of the UK right here in North Van. This is your go-to for proper British meats, savory pies, and traditional holiday cuts. If you’re looking to make a proper Sunday Roast for Christmas, start here.
❆ Westlynn Meats and Seafoods | Another incredible option for the main event. Known for high-quality cuts and fresh seafood, the staff here are super helpful if you need advice on how to prep your holiday feast.
❆ Stems by Stong’s | Don't forget the greenery! Located within the Stong's market complex at Northwoods Village, Stems offers beautiful floral arrangements. A fresh centerpiece or a festive bouquet is often the best "thank you" for a holiday host.
