District of North Vancouver Utility Bills: 2026 Update for Homeowners
Homeowners in the District of North Vancouver should have now received their 2026 utility bills. This is the second year that utilities have been billed separately from property taxes, a change introduced in 2025 to make the costs of essential services more transparent.
If you own property in the District, your utility bill covers services such as drinking water, sewer and drainage, and solid waste collection.
When Is the Payment Due?
Utility bills were mailed in late February and are due March 31, 2026.
Unlike property taxes, utility charges cannot be deferred, so homeowners should make sure payment is received by the District before the deadline to avoid penalties.
2026 Utility Charges
For 2026, the District portion of utility charges has slightly decreased compared to last year.
- Single-family home: $1,036.48
- Down $8.23 from 2025
- Multi-family home (per unit): $666.96
- Down $11.58 from 2025
These charges represent the portion collected directly by the District. Your total utility bill may also include regional charges related to water supply and wastewater treatment.

A Quick Reminder for Homeowners
Since utilities are now billed separately from property taxes, homeowners in the District should plan for two major municipal bills each year:
- Utility bill – due March 31
- Property taxes – typically due in early July
While the shift to separate billing was new last year, it does make it easier to see exactly how much essential services like water, sewer, and waste collection cost each year.
For homeowners budgeting for the year ahead, it’s simply another reminder to keep both of these municipal expenses on the radar.
